Bio

Hi there! I’m Bri Hardcastle and I am majoring in Communications with a focus in Journalism, and minoring in both psychology and studio art at Appalachian State University..

I graduated from Page high school in Greensboro, NC with an International Baccalaureate Diploma and the highest honors. I was in multiple clubs including environmental club, National Spanish honor society, the school newspaper, and artistic expression. I also played junior Olympic volleyball competitively from age 12-18 where I was team captain for 4 years straight.

I always knew I wanted to enter a career path that could be based around my creativity and love to explore different mediums of expression but could also allow me to reach out and interact with people on a day to day basis. During my first three years at Appalachian State. I switched my major multiple times.

I originally entered majoring in psychology, then switched to communication disorders, then to graphic design, then to studio art, before finally finding my place in the journalism department.

I try to find times to allow myself creative expression outside of just writing, and usually find that in painting, poetry and pencil drawing. As much as time allows, I try to create at least one piece of art on a weekly basis. You can find these on the Writings and Artworks page of this website.
